WBA world champion Gennady Golovkin of Kazakhstan has advanced to second place in the world middleweight ranking after he KOed Matthew Macklin, Vesti.kz reports. According to boxrec.com, Golovkin has 774 points now. He displaced Australian boxer Daniel Geape from the second place. Argentina’s Sergio Martinez is the leader of the ranking. Macklin’s KO loss to Golovkin had effected his position in ranking a lot. The British boxer moved down from the 8th to the 13th place. It is not yet clear when Kazakhstan's Trippe G can get ahead of Martinez, because Argentinian’s promoter said that he wouldn't advise his fighter to face that "monster".
