Astana Arlans boxers won over Dinamo in the first World Series of Boxing semifinal match, Tengrinews.kz reports. Mirkhan Rakhimzhanov, Astana Arlans 54-kilogram weight league boxer, and Vladimir Nikitin from Dinamo team opened the tournament. The Russian boxer had an advantage over his rival starting from very the first seconds of the fight. Nikitin gripped the lead and was pushing Rakhimzhanov back to the ropes. Rakhimzhanov tried to counterattack, however he chose the wrong tactics. Referees awarded Dinamo boxer with the victory after all five rounds. Merey Akshalov fought against one of the strongest Dinamo boxers Vazgen Safaryants in a 61-kilogram weight league match. Kazakhstan boxer managed to force his action and prevailed over his rival in the majority of the fighting elements during three rounds. However two additional three-minute rounds were scored to Safaryants. The score was 1:1 when Astana Arlans boxer Miras Bairkhanov and Vitally Bandarenka from Dinamo started the next 73-kilogram weight league match. The fight was very persistent. Boxers gripped the lead one after another, but neither managed to hold it long and the score was even by the final round. Bairkhanov managed to snatch a victory in the final three-minute round drawing his team ahead with him. Uzbek Legionnaire Ramzhon Akhmedov, Astana Arlans 85-kilogram weight league boxer, fought against Danil Shved from Dinamo. The host country fighter started the match successfully. Russian boxer gripped the lead and made the score even in the second round of the tournament. However, Akmedov turned out to be stronger in the final round and won the first semi-final match for Astana Arlans. Ruslan Myrsatyev, Astana Arlans 91-kilogram weight league fighter, and Dinamo Sergey Kolchugin fought the last match of the tournament. Russian boxer was more successful in this match. Astana Arlans won with the score of 3:2 in the first semifinal match against Moscow Dinamo. The response match will be held in Moscow on March 30.
