Astana basketball team might play in Euro League in the next season, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the official website of the League. Kazakhstan team usually plays in VTB United League that is part of the European Club competitions. The Tournament’s regulations will be approved later. It is expected that the parties will negotiate future competitions in details during the forthcoming Final of Four tournament, where the League’s Council will meet. It is known that the teams will qualify for the European League according to their places in VTB United League. “We are sure that there will be no more regular Russian Championship matches,” Sergey Ivanov, VTB United League president said. VTB United League will change its format due to the integration with regular Russian Championship. Astana played in VTB United League for the first time in 2011-2012 and became seventh in the A group.
