Astana Pro Team cycler Rein Taaramäe has won the Arctic Race Norway, Tengrinews reports.

Silvan Dillier (BMC Racing Team) won the final stage of the Arctic Race of Norway. He was followed by llnur Zakarin (Katusha).

After the competition, VeloNews reported Taaramäe’s possible decision to leave Astana Pro Team after the end of his one-year contract. In August, the cycler won Vuelta a Burgos in Spain.

“I’m pretty sure that I will leave the team. (…)There are many teams, and with two teams I’m very close. I think in the coming week I can (decide),” Taaramäe said.

The cycler hopes to find a team that will give him enough freedom to compete in races he picks himself.

The Arctic Race of Norway is an annual multiple stage bicycle race hosted in northern Norway. The race originated in 2013.

Astana Pro Team, the professional road bicycle racing team from Kazakhstan is sponsored by the Samruk-Kazyna Wealth Fund. The team founded in 2007 is named after Kazakhstan's capital Astana.
