Astana cyclists training at Canary Islands

The weather is nice and the place has all the facilities for rigorous exercises. My new team friends Jacopo Guarnieri and Borut Bozic are travelling to the Islands with me. Enrico Gasparotto will join us later. My old friends from Liquigas team are also training there. A massage therapist will be on the Islands with us, too. So, we’ll have all we need to exercise hard. Gran-Canaria Island is good because of its long road upgrades. It is difficult to find a mountainous landscape for practice in Europe now. I have skied with Gasparotto in Italy and Czech Republic. I have been interchanging alpine skiing with cross-country skiing,” Kreuziger said about his trainings ahead of a new cycling season. Roman Kreuziger rides for Astana since 2011. Before that the 25-y.o. cyclist was riding for Liquigas team for four years. The czech cyclist will be the leader of Astana team in Giro d’Italia, one of the most prestigious multi-day race of the season. Last year he was sixth following the results of all the stages of the race.
