Astana cyclist cycled at Tour de France with broken wrist
Czech cyclist of Kazakhstan team Astana Roman Kreuziger cycled most of Tour de Francebroken broken wrist, SportWereld reports. He got into a heap at one of the first stages of the race. Scanning after completion of the Big Loop showed that the sportsman has a fracture and he will have to wear a plaster for 6 weeks. Kreuziger was ranked 112th in general classification of Tour de France being 3 hours behind the winner Cadel Evans. He was ranked 9th in the team’s score of the Big Loop in 2009 and 2010. Astana cyclists did not win any of the stages of Tour de France and the team was ranked only 19th out of 22 teams. In the course of the race the team lost its leader Aleksandr Vinokurov and one of the strongest mountain racers of the world Italian Paolo Tiralongo. Vinokourov got a thigh fracture and finished his sport career, while Tiralongo withdrew from the race because of gastritis.
