Representatives of Saxo Bank cycling group, Denmark, refuted information of Dutch media on their alliance with Kazakhstan team Astana for the next season, Velosportnews.ru writes. Rumors about the liaison were spread by De Telegraaf. According to Dutch journalists, Saxo Bank and Astana signed a contract with Specialized on supply of bikes, which supposedly certified their liaison. The publication also stated that negotiations between the teams started after Tour de France-2011. “Saxo Bank is not planning to align with anybody. Such speculations emerged after Leopard Trek and RadioShack announced their liaison. If not that, there would have been less gossip,” press-secretary of Saxo Bank Anders Damgaard said. Information about the owner of Saxo Bank Bjarne Riis negotiating an alliance with Astana appeared in L'Equipe journal in June. It was suggested that Alberto Contador would become the leader of the new team. Alberto Contador has already won Tour de France twice being a member of the Kazakhstan team.
