Kazakhstan boxing team Astana Arlans reached the World Series of Boxing (WSB) semi-finals, Tengrinews.kz reports. Kazakhstan fighters won over Mexico City Guerreros in response quarter-final match. Rafikzhon Sultonov from Astana Arlans fought against Braulio Avila Juarez from Mexico City Guerreros in the lightest weight category. The match was quite dirty. There were many clinches between the boxers; however the Mexican fighter was more successful in his rare attacks. Judges awarded him with a victory with the score of 49:46. Kazakhstan 61-kilogram weight league boxer Samat Bashenov fought against Khurshid Tozhibayev, an Uzbek legionnaire of the Mexican team. Islam gripped the lead during the whole fight and was awarded with a well-deserved victory by a unanimous consent of judges. Algerian legionnaire Abdelhafid Benchabla who is caped for Astana Arlans in 91-kilogram weight league fought against Mexican Javier Ortega. Benchabla dominated the ring as well and won by to the results of all the five rounds. However, the score was even 2:2.
