American rappers have written a song and shot a video that pays homage to world-renowned Kazakh boxer Gennadiy Golovkin, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.
The song was written and performed by two young Mexican-Americans Mario Ruiz and Omar Cruz. Its called Mexican style.
The video is available on YouTube. It is also broadcasted on American TV screens.
The video begins with the words of the boxer: “My style is Mexican. It is not the game, it is the fight. I love fight.” It contains different bright moments of Golovkin’s career and his prominent fights.
Gennadiy Golovkin, whose nickname is GGG, was born in 1982 in Karaganda, central Kazakhstan.
Currently undefeated as a professional, the Kazakh boxer is the reigning WBA and IBO middleweight champion, silver medalist at the 2004 Olympic Games and seven times Kazakhstan's champion.
With a 90% knockout percentage, he holds the highest KO ratio in middleweight championship history: he is ranked first amongst all active current and former champions, and equal second in overall championship history. Golovkin has never been knocked down or knocked out in over 375 fights, both as a professional and amateur.
