Aleksandr Vinokurov left Tour de France, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the tournament's official website. 98 km before the finish, Vinokurov got into ditch and managed to get up only with the help of his partners. According to the initial information, the cyclist has pelvic and elbow fracture. The eighth stage of the race between Aigurande and Super-Besse Sancy was won by Portuguese cyclist Rui Alberto Costa of Movistar. He was followed by Spanish Philippe Gilbert of Omega Pharma-Lotto and Australian Cadel Evans from BMC.
