Abel Sanchez, the trainer of the WBA (Super), IBO and WBC (Interim) middleweight Champion Gennady Golovkin has given a small excursion around the Big Bear training camp where the famous Kazakhstani boxer is currently training for his upcoming fight, Tengrinews reports citing Boxingnews.kz.
Sanchez talked about living conditions of over ten boxers who are now living and training at Big Bear in California. Golovkin’s room is located on the second floor of the house. It is not difficult to guess where the undefeated world champion resided as his door has GGG written over.
Golovkin’s room is modest and has two beds, a wardrobe, few personal belongings and a private bathroom. The boxer keeps his new WBC belt right in his room.
Golovkin, according to his trainer, trained for over 10 month out of 12 in California away from his 4 y.o, son and wife who are currently living in Germany. “(Gennady) doing so well is not because of luck, but because of hard work,” Sanchez added.
The trainer said that he did not know who Golovkin will face after a fight against Martin Murray on February 21, in Monaco.
