Vinokourov came 27th in last race of season in France

Kazakhstan professional cyclist Alexandr Vinokourov competed in Chrono des Nations, the final race of the season, in France, reports, referring to website. He came in 27th.

German Tony Martin, representing HTC-Highroad, came the first, Swedish Gustav Larsson from Saxo Bank followed him at the final race of the season. British Alex Dowsett, representing Team Sky, came in third.

It was Vinokourov's first ride since he fell off at one of the Tour de France- 2011 stages. The sportsman broke his thigh then and this injury required a long-term rehabilitation. Vinokourov competed in individual trial under number 28 in France. World champions, Greek, Polish, Sweden sportsmen, as well as cyclists, who came first at the last four Chrono des Nations races participated in the France championship.

Earlier Vinokourov planned to ride at the Tour of Lombardy, that was be held on October 15. But he didn't want his return to be of a formal nature, as he said at the BlogSpot TV show interview, that was broadcasted on October, 3. Italian race was a long and tough one. The sportsman could not 100 percent rely on his physical condition, that is why he decided to skip it.
