Skiing: Poltoranin and Chebotko win bronze in World Ski Championship

Kazakhstan skiers Aleksey Poltoranin and Nikolay Chebotko became the bronze prize-winners of the men’s team sprint of the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships held in the Italian ski resort area of Val di Fiemme, Vesti.kz reports.

The Russian national team consisting of Aleksey Petukhov and Nikita Kryukov won the world championship. Sweden’s skiers Marcus Hellner and Emil Joensson won silver.

American Jessica Diggins and Kikkan Randall claimed gold in the women’s team sprint. Sweden’s Charlotte Kalla and Ida Ingemarsdotter came second and Finland’s Riika Sarasoja-Lilja and Krista Lahteenmaki were third.

The women’s team of Kazakhstan consisting of Anna Stoyan and Oksana Yatskaya failed to reach the finals of the tournament.
