What is curling?

Curling is a winter sport in which players slide stones on ice toward a target area known as the "house." The game originated in Scotland in the 16th century and has since spread worldwide. Curling became an Olympic sport in 1998.

Two teams of four players participate in curling. The game consists of ten ends, in which teams take turns throwing eight stones. The objective is to score more points than the opponent by placing their stones closer to the center of the house. Points are awarded based on how many stones from each team are closer to the center than the opponent's stones. Additionally, players can influence the movement of the stones by brushing the ice with special brooms to alter their trajectory.
