Kazakhstan national football team gets new chief coach

A new chief coach has finally been appointed for the Kazakhstan national football team, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz.

The position of the chief coach remained vacant for some time after Miroslav Beranek's contract expired. And the selection arose a lot of anticipation. Russian professional football coach Yuri Krasnozhan was selected for the position. The official announcement was made today, on February 7.

Krasnozhan trained the Chechen FC Terek of Grozny city in 2013. Before that he worked with such Russian Kuban FC (Krasnodar city), Anji FC (Makhachkala), Lokomative FC (Moscow) and Spartak FC (Nalchik).

The contract of Miroslav Beranek, the previous head coach of Kazakhstan's national football team, expired on December 31, 2013. Under the leadership of the Czech coach the football team advanced to the 5th place in the Group C in the qualifications of the World Cup 2014.

The national team was training without a head coach almost a whole month. This month saw the Euro 2016 qualifications. The date of a friendly against Lithuania has been scheduled to March 5.
