Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh boxers won five gold medals at the 2025 Youth Asian Games in Manama, Bahrain, where the final bouts took place on October 30. Eight athletes represented Kazakhstan in the finals, marking one of the team’s most successful performances at the tournament.

The national team featured Ayaulym Ospanova, Kamila Ospanova, Elnura Konyrat, Arman Myrsabit, Zhumagali Nurmakhan, Doszhan Zhumakan, Daniyal Shalkarbay, and Mukhamedali Rustembek. Four of the finals were Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan matchups.

Zhumagali Nurmakhan captured Kazakhstan’s first gold medal, defeating India’s Lanchenba Singh Moibunghongbam 5:0. Doszhan Zhumakan added a second gold after beating Matin Chamip from Iran in the 54 kg category.

Ayaulym Ospanova secured the third gold in the women’s 66 kg division with a dominant performance against India’s Harnur Kaur — the referee stopped the fight in the second round. Daniyal Shalkarbay claimed the fourth gold by defeating Uzbekistan’s Saidhuzha Sadillakhuzhaev 5:0 in the men’s 66 kg bout.

The fifth gold went to Kamila Ospanova, who triumphed over Samira Turgunova of Uzbekistan with a decisive 5:0 victory in the 75 kg final.

Elnura Konyrat earned silver after losing 0:5 to India’s Anshika in the +80 kg category, while Mukhamedali Rustembek also took silver, falling 0:5 to Uzbekistan’s Asadbek Sultanboev in the heavyweight final.

Arman Myrsabit earlier brought Kazakhstan its first medal in boxing — a silver — after losing a close judges’ decision to Uzbekistan’s Abdughani Yarkinjonov in the 46 kg category.

The final Kazakhstan–Uzbekistan head-to-head record stood at 2:2, highlighting a strong rivalry between the neighboring nations at the Youth Asian Games.
