Tengrinews.kz - The Kokpar Federation has responded to Kyrgyzstan's call for a friendly match following a controversial moment in the final of the V World Nomad Games.

A conflict occurred just six minutes before the end of the first half, with Kyrgyzstan leading 3-1. After the break, the Kazakhstan team managed to secure victory and win the gold medal.

Following the competition, reports emerged that the visiting team had proposed a friendly match in Kyrgyzstan, assuring that neutral referees would officiate the game.

"The Kyrgyz Kok-Boru Federation invited us to a tournament scheduled for November 1. Many perceive this as a rematch following the final of the V World Nomad Games.

It is important to note that this tournament is not planned in our calendar. At that time, we have other competitions scheduled. In the future, if Kyrgyzstan proposes to host the World Championship in Kokpar or international tournaments, we are open to dialogue.

The anticipation of a rematch between the two countries reflects the growing interest in Kokpar. This is encouraging and indicates that the level of our national sport has risen to a new height," the federation stated.

Kokpar is a traditional team sport popular in Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries, where two teams on horseback compete to seize a model goat carcass and use it as a projectile, aiming to throw it into the opponent's circle.

Notably, the national team of Kazakhstan emerged victorious at the V World Nomad Games in Astana, taking first place in the medal standings.
