Tengrinews.kz – Kazakh boxer Gennady Golovkin, American Antonio Tarver, and Briton Nigel Benn will be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame in 2026, according to Ring Magazine.

The announcement was officially made on Thursday, December 4, on the International Boxing Hall of Fame’s account on social media platform X.

The induction ceremony will take place from June 11 to 14, 2026, in Canastota, New York.

Golovkin has become the first Kazakh boxer to receive this honor, and only the fourth boxer from the post-Soviet space to do so. Previously inducted were Kostya Tszyu and the Klitschko brothers.

GGG competed in 350 amateur bouts, winning 345 of them, and became a world champion and Olympic silver medalist. For many years, he was one of the leaders of Kazakhstan’s national boxing team.

As a professional, Golovkin became the world middleweight champion under the IBF, WBA, and IBO versions. His record includes 45 fights, with 42 victories (37 by knockout). He was a long-time leader of the global P4P (pound-for-pound) rankings.

His streak of 23 consecutive knockouts over nine years is the longest in middleweight history. Golovkin made 21 successful title defenses, another record achievement. His knockout ratio, exceeding 90 percent, has been recorded in the Guinness World Records.
