The Court of Arbitration for Sport has suspended Alberto Contador, three-time Tour de France winner, for two years, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Eurosport.ru.

Disqualification came into effect starting from August 2010 when the Spanish cyclist tested positive for the banned substance clenbuterol. So, the cyclist will be stripped of his 2010 Tour de France and 2011Giro d'Italia title. Alberto Contador cycled in 2010 Tour de France race as part of Kazakhstan Astana team.

After this disqualification Andy Schleck of Luxembourg and Italian Michele Scarponi became the winners of 2010 Tour de France and 2011Giro d'Italia correspondingly. Contador won't be able to return his three-time Tour de France champion title in the nearest future because he is banned from competing professionally until August 6, 2012.

Alberto Contador tested positively during the doping test taken at 2010 Tour de France race. The cyclist won the race for the third time then. Initially he was banned from cycling in 2011 season but managed to challenge the Court's decision later on.
