80 Kazakhstan athletes qualified for the Olympics 2012

Kazakhstan athletes gained 80 spots for the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Kazakhstan Sport and Physical Education Agency’s press-service. As of May 2 there are 8 spots in weight-lifting, 3 in whitewater, 3 in taekwondo, 3 in cycling, 1 in canoeing, 2 in gymnastics, 1 in rhythmic gymnastics, 2 spots in shooting sports, 1 in water polo (men’s team), 9 in boxing, 2 in synchronous swimming, 3 in fencing, 7 in free-style wrestling, 2 in rowing and canoeing, 12 in track and field athletics, 5 in Greco-Roman wrestling and 3 in women wrestling. There will be more qualifying tournaments in track-and-field athletics, Greco-Roman and women wrestling, judo, swimming, modern pentathlon, archery, tennis, beach volleyball, cycle race tracking and triathlon. It is expected that Kazakhstan athletes will gain more than 100 spots in 25 sports for London Olympic Games by the end of the qualifying period.
