Sportsmen from Russia, Ukraine and Latvia also participated in the competition besides Kazakhstan and the home teams. As a result during the competition Barys lost only one game to Moscow team Jastreby that eventually won the tournament. Two matches of the Kazakhstan team ended up with a draw score of 4:4 and than Barys won twice over Latvian Metallurg with the score of 5:0 and Ukrainian Sokol with the score of 5:1.
The junior Kazakhstan team played against Vitebsk team in the bronze medal match and successfully won with 4:3. Medet Saparbek from Barys was named the best defender of the championship.
