The 56 y.o. Kostanay native Sergey Polikarpov has won the Spring Half Marathon in Omsk, Russia for the sixth time, Tengrinews reports citing Omsk Zdes news website.

The 20th Spring Half Marathon took place on May 24. The participants competed in 21.1 km, 10 km and 5 km distances.

The 21.1 km distance was especially interesting. Polikarpov has been winning the half marathon since 2010. Once again, the Kazakhstani claimed the first place among men completing the distance in one hour and fourteen minutes. It marked his sixth consecutive victory at the Spring half marathon.

&ldquoI was running slower when it got difficult. I caught my breath and continued running further. There is a saying &ldquorest on your feet&rdquo. For a little bit, even if its 10 seconds you can lower your speed and rest if the body is trained to do it,&rdquo Polikarpov said.

This year 1,160 people from Russia, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Poland, Tajikistan and France participated in the Spring Half Marathon in Omsk.
