The program of the 2017 Winter Universiade taking place in Kazakhstan's Almaty will included three new sport events, Tengrinews reports citing FISU.
On July 30, the FISU Executive Committee met before the start of the 28th Universiade in Gwangju, South Korea.
The sports programme of the upcoming Universiade now includes new events - alpine skiing team competition (instead of the combined classification), new parallel slalom snowboard competition (besides the giant slalom) and the aerials in addition to freestyle skiing.
In addition, the FISU Executive Committee included badminton into the Summer Universiade program. The next meeting of the FISU Executive Committee is scheduled to February 2016 in Brussels.
