Tengrinews.kz - Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a phone conversation with Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, according to Akorda.
During the call, the two leaders exchanged greetings for the upcoming spring holiday, Nauryz, wishing peace and prosperity to their nations.
President Tokayev praised the high pace of bilateral cooperation, noting that it aligns with the level of strategic partnership and alliance between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation. They also discussed the schedule of upcoming meetings.
In August 2024, Mirziyoyev visited Kazakhstan on a state visit, during which Tokayev awarded him Kazakhstan’s highest state honor, the Altyn Qyran (Golden Eagle) order.
The Kazakh president emphasized that Mirziyoyev is recognized and respected in Kazakhstan as a true leader of the Uzbek people, a politician of international stature, and a statesman who has made invaluable contributions to strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Previously, the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Uzbekistan signed a strategic agreement to integrate the energy systems of the three nations.
