May 12 Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov had a telephone talk with the Head of Russian Government Vladimir Putin, the website of the Russian Head of Government announces. The sides dwelt on bilateral economic cooperation, integration processes and the forthcoming sitting of the CIS Heads of Government to be held in Minsk. May 19 Minsk, Belarus, will be hosting the 15th sitting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community. This will be the last meeting of the highest body of the Customs Union between Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan prior to the planned removal of the internal customs barriers July 1, 2011. The Customs Union between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus came into existence on January 1, 2010 to boost trade and investment. According to the statement made at the press-conference in Minsk, the Customs Union was formed on the WTO principles. The Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community, is the highest body of the customs union between Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan.
