Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan signed an agreement on voluntary military support, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the Defense Ministry’s press service. As per the press service, Defense Minister of Kazakhstan Adilbek Dzhaksybekov and Kyrgyz Defense Minister Major General Abibilla Kudaiberdiyev met in Astana today, March 17. Heads of Defense Ministries signed an Agreement between Kazakhstan Government and Kyrgyzstan Cabinet of Ministers on voluntary military support. Major General Abibilla Kudaiberdiyev thanked Kazakhstan for the warm reception and said that one of the priority cooperation goals is to render assistance to Kyrgyzstan by training its military personnel in Kazakhstan universities. About 70 Kyrgyz military men studied in Kazakhstan's defense ministry universities free of charge and graduated between 1998 and 2010 under the Agreement on Training of Military Personnel for the Collective Security Treaty Organization member-states. Currently over 110 Kyrgyz military force servicemen are studying at Kazakh military universities, Kazakhstan defense ministry’s press-service reports.
