Five arrested in Kyrgyzstan for plotting coup and mass riots

Tengrinews.kz - Kyrgyzstan's State National Security Committee has successfully thwarted a plot aimed at overthrowing the government. The operation, which prevented plans for mass riots, potentially averted civilian casualties.

The committee revealed that the group consisted of individuals with criminal inclinations and those fervently embracing extremist religious ideologies. Five suspects have been arrested.

During searches of the suspects’ properties, authorities seized components for selfmade explosives, firearms, ammunition, radios, bulletproof vests, law enforcement uniforms, drones, extremist literature, and other prohibited items.
