Kazakhstan’s capital city Astana will celebrate the New Year 2015 with spectacular fireworks, Tengrinews reports.

The fireworks will start at midnight on the New Year's night of December 31, 2014 - January 1, 2015. The show is expected to last for 7 to 10 minutes.

According to the representative of Kazakhstan Salut Company Viktor Radchenko, the city residents and guests will be able to enjoy the fireworks not only from afar, but also closeup. “This is 60-70 meters for nearby houses and for people that come to the embankment at midnight to watch the fireworks and launch them on their own. Therefore, fireworks will be launched from a close distance," he said.

According to him, there will be more than 1,500 high-rise salvos and over 7,000 salvos from close distance. The show will involve around 10 pyrotechnicians.

The fireworks show will take place simultaneously in three locations in the city: esplanade of the Yesil (Ishim) River opposite to the Metropolitan Park, near Khan Shatyr Mall and the last one - at the intersection of Abylaikhan and Pushkin streets.

In addition, the festivities dedicated to the coming New Year will be held today on December 31, at the city square, which is located in front of the city administration building (Akimat), close to Congress Hall. The event will start at 9 p.m. The city administration prepared a bright entertaining show with the participation of Kazakh popular singers.

The weather, according to forecast, is expected to be snowy and frosty. But don't let the weather affect the New Year's mood.

Happy Holidays!
