Kamila Makat, a high school student, won the Princess Aktau 2014 title. She enjoys photography, horse-riding and dancing, studies English and dreams of becoming a professional photographer.
12 girls participated in the contest this year. The youngest participant - Sholpan Taybazarova - won the Prize of Children's Jury. Melisa Hadj got the Miss Excellence title, Christina Vereshchak got the Miss Talent title, Mariana Muracheva became the Miss Delight, Alua Balganiyaz received the title of the Person of the Year and Yulia Yurchenko won the Model of the Year title. Gulfairuz Kibadulla won the People Choice Award based on results on the online voting.
The Princess Aktau-2014 beauty contest was all about princesses, so the contestants were expected to demonstrate the qualities that befit a princesses.
"Every girl is a Princess, and she is the very best one for every mom, so was not really nervous today. And now, after my daughter won the grand prize, I am very proud of her, but certainly all the girls did their best and deserve the victory. They were preparing for the competition for six months, besides, good grades in their school reports was one of the chief prerequisite of their participation. And with so many practices for the contest it was surely hard to keep getting good grades at school," Gulmira Myrzabaeva, the mother of the winner, said.
