Military equipment from two regional military posts has been brought to Almaty 28 Panfilov Heroes Memorial Park last night, Tengrinews.kz reports. Almaty residents and visitors of the city will have a chance to see the weaponry that is in currently in service of Kazakhstan Army till midnight of May 9. MT-12 Rapira, 100-milllimeter antitank cannon, D-30 howitzer, Hummer military jeep, BTR-80 armored fighting vehicle, infantry combat vehicle (BMP-2), and BM-37 trench mortar are exhibited in the 28 Panfilov Heroes Memorial Park. Fireworks in celebration of May 9 will light up Almaty sky at 10:00 p.m. on May 9. The festive events in honor of 67th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War will start in 9:50 a.m. in 28 Panfilov Heroes Memorial Park. Akim (Mayor) of Almaty Akhmetzhan Yessimov will deliver a speech, after which Park’s visitors will observe The Minute of Silence. Then Kazakhstan Internal Military Forces Wind Band will perform national anthem of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Pavilions and the stage will be set in front of the Voznesenskiy Cathedral at the southern square of the Park. A field kitchen will be working at the square, too. Almaty Symphony Orchestra along with Kazakhstan pop stars will take part in the concert that will start at 8-00 p.m. in Astana Square (Tole Bi Str. Corner of Ablay Khan Str.)
