Students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) baked an 11-meter-long pie these weekends, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of the university. The apple pie called Almaty was presented to the participants and guests of the 2d International Forum The Role of Student NGOs in the Development of Youth Self-Administration at Universities and Regions. "As a nice surprise each participant of the forum (1,5 thousand students) got a piece of the flavorous apple dessert. The pie entered the KazNU Book of Records. Baking of the delicious dessert was initiated by the Youth Organizations Committee of the University. There are more than one hundred unions of students in the committee. In future this delicacy will be a traditional dessert at the forum," the report says. Leaders of the Student Organizations and Unions from Kazakhstan, other post soviet countries and Europe, and representatives of international student unions took part in the 2nd International Student Forum. Participants will exchanged experience in the self-administration, presented their projects and discussed common problems at the forum that started on April 20.
