A new monumental statuary composition called Kazakhstan was opened in Almaty First President’s Garden. The sculpture is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports. The monument is made in the form of a golden eagle from bronze, granite and marble. The figure of the First President is carved in the centre of the monument. The main symbols of Astana and Almaty cities are depicted on the wings of the golden eagle. About one thousand people attended the opening ceremony of the monument, including Dariga Nazarbayeva, President's daughter and Akhmetzhan Yessimov, mayor of Almaty city. Initiatially a letter suggesting to create Kazakhstan monument was sent by the arts community of Kazakhstan on October 25 to the President’s administration office. Lubov Nyssanbayeva, president of the City Planners Union of Kazakhstan, Akmyrza Rustembekov, president of Architects’ Union, Timur Suleimenov, head of Designers’ Union and Baitursyn Umorbekov, president of Artists’ Union authored the letter. It is worth saying that the artists have funded creation of the sculpture themselves.
