20-y.o. Svetlana Rasshupkina, winner of Miss Khan Shatyr-2012 pageant, will represent Kazakhstan at the international Miss Earth-2012 beauty pageant, Tengrinews.kz reports. Rasshupkina was Second Vice-Miss of Almaty in 2011. Kazakhstan hasn’t not participated in Miss Earth pageants for quite a long time. It was Kazakhstan's Margarita Kravtsova who was the most successful at the event when she became third in 2001. Miss Earth is one of the most prestigious beauty pageants along with Miss World and Miss Universe. The event was held in the Philippines for the last six years. Miss Earth is different from other pageants by its environmental awareness. Ecuadorian Olga Alava won the pageant in 2011. Miss Earth beauty contest will be held in October 28, 2012.
