New Year celebrations will take place on Astana square in Almaty

Celebrations will start on Astana square in Almaty (at the crossing of Tole bi and Ablai-khan streets) at 11:00 p.m. on December 31. The program will last until 01:00 a.m. on January 1, 2012, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Almaty administration’s press-service.The concert will be hosted by actor Anuar Nurpeissov and showman Abzal Garifullin. DJ program will continue from 11:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Mysterions group will be entertaining Almaty residents from 11:30 p.m. to 11:50 p.m.The New Year speech of Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev will be broadcasted on the square from 11:55 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Almaty residents will enjoy the fireworks from 12:00 a.m. to 12:10 a.m.A-Tunes and Kz Style music bands will perform from 12:10 a.m. to 12:30 a.m., a DJ will continue performing from 12:30 a.m. to 01:00 a.m.
