Miss and Mister Shymkent have been selected in the southern city of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Otyrar-TV. 20-y.o. Zhazira Nurimbetova was named the most beautiful Shymkent girl. 16-y.o. Zhandos Tasbolat became the winner among young men. The winners of the pageant will represent their city at the national beauty contest of Kazakhstan that will be held in Almaty in September 2012. 18 young men and women participated in the final stage of the pageant. The youngest participant was 15 years old. “Besides all else, the show participants should demonstrate their knowledge of Kazakh customs and traditions to gain the title of the most beautiful man or woman,” Izolda Kim, Style modeling agency director, said. The organizers of the event excluded the swimsuit competition out of the pageant's program. However, the participants were suggested to perform a Go-Go dance.
