Tengrinews.kz – Roe deer have been caught on camera in the Pavlodar Region, with a video shared online by the Irtysh Ormany Nature Reserve.
The footage was published on the reserve’s official Instagram page.
“In the reserve, a significant population of roe deer lives within its territory. These graceful and cautious animals are an important part of the forest ecosystem and a true adornment of our woodlands,” the post says.
Staff at Irtysh Ormany also noted that roe deer can reach speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour and leap distances of up to six meters. Thanks to their sharp hearing and keen sense of smell, the animals are able to detect danger well in advance and move to a safe distance long before a human approaches.
According to the reserve, 582 roe deer currently inhabit the protected natural area of the Pavlodar region.
