Famous Italian Teatro alla Scala will arrive in Kazakhstan for the first time and perform on the stage of Astana Opera theater, Tengrinews reports. The largest theater of Milan will bring Don Quixote ballet of Ludwig Minkus revised by Rudolf Nuriyev. The Kazakhstan audience will have a chance to appreciate the perfect image of sad knight Don Quixote presented by the Italian masters from June 30 up to July 4, 2014. Spanish dreamer Don Quixote, whose fate was full of fantasies and illusions, led his life in his own world, but when faced with the reality he couldn't handle the downfall of his cloud castles. Don Quixote fought windmills and danced with Dulcinea in the enchanted castle in his dream. The whole ballet is based on the adventures of Don Quixote and his squire Sancho Panzo that is more likely the undertone to the love story of young Kitri and barber Basilio. They wanted to make their dream come true, despite being chased and deceived. The ballet's light spirit hint at the classic comedy scenes in combination with bright Spanish folklore music, Gypsy dances and amazing world of the Dryads Kingdom. Full of generosity, Don Quixote's character requires excellent of dancing techniques, especially in the conclusive grand pas de deux that adorns the love celebration. The colorful decorations for the scenes in the national Spanish style were created by Rafael del Savio and the costumes for the spectacle were made by Anna Anni. John Lanchberry made all the arrangement and adaptation work for the performance. Legendary Italian dancers will perform the ballet accompanied by the symphony orchestra of Astana Opera. "We are holding the bar high and want Astana Opera to be among the world's best theaters. As I figuratively said at the meeting with a representatives of the La Scala theater, Teatro alla Scala should lead Astana Opera house along the beautiful road to the bright future," director of Astana Opera Tolegen Mukhamedzhanov said. The tickets to Don Quixote are already on sale starting from December 2013, the cost ranges from 500 to 30 thousand tenge ($3-$200). Sales of tickets one year before the performance is a global practice in all leading theaters. This practice is absolutely uncommon for Kazakhstan, but Astana Opera will introduce it. The performance that will last for 2 hours and 40 minutes, including the intermissions, will be presented in the classic style. The address of the venue is Kunayev Str. (at the crossing with Turan Av.).
