Kazakhstan gets two days off for Constitution Day

Kazakhstan celebrates the Constitution Day on August 30 and will enjoy two days off for the holiday this year. Kazakhstan citizens will have days off on August 30 and 31, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official website of Astana administration. “August 30 and 31 have been declared banking holidays. The Constitution Day in Kazakhstan is on August 30,” the message states. Kazakhstan Constitution was adopted by the national referendum on August 30, 1995. It declared Kazakhstan a country with presidential government and August 30 was declared the Constitution Day of Kazakhstan. According to the law On holidays in Kazakhstan , the Constitution Day is a national holiday. In line with the Labor Code this day is a day off. “The days of the national holidays celebrated in Kazakhstan are considered days off in line with the labor legislation. When a holiday date is a weekend day, the workday following the holiday day shall be considered the day off,” Article 5 of the Holiday Law reads. The Constitution Day is traditionally celebrated in Kazakhstan cities and villages with concerts, entertainment and sport tournaments.
