Medina Bondarenko from Kazakhstan was ranked third in the international beauty pageant Miss Kharkiv International, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the organizers. Bondarenko studies in the Kharkov University Lyceum and will graduate from high-school this year. “My mom told me about the contest and I had a great desire to take part in it. I have never taken part in such competitions. That’s why I initially had a stereotype that it would be participated by professionals only and that I had to beware pins in my shoes,” the young lady said. “After the first meeting I realized that all girls were kind, nice and joyful.” Emilia Shakh from Afghanistan won the Miss Kharkiv International-2013 title. Olga Polyakova from Israel was awarded with second Vice-Miss title. The People’s Choice Award was given to Oguldzhakhan Khordayeva from Turkmenistan. Medina Bondarenko. The contest’s goal was to present the whole variety and richness of national and cultural unions of Kharkov. During the contest the participants catwalked in national dresses and evening gowns, presented video clips about Kharkov’s multinational population and demonstrated their talents.
