Kara Zhorga dance performed by Astana youth during the celebration of Independence Day has officially got into The Guinness Book of World Records, Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to Yevgeniy Ribalko, Kazbrend Public Fund director. The Fund has got a certificate for the biggest dance that was performed by 399 dancers. Kazbrend Public Fund held a large-scale campaign on December 16, 2011 in Khan Shatyr shopping mall in Astana. A mass Kara-Zhorga dance performance and 300-kilogram beshbarmak (Kazakh national dish) cooking culminated the campaign. Two teams of cooks made a 300-kilogram dish of beshbarmak. However it took mall's visitors only few minutes to empty the huge plate. The organizers of the event made two applications to the Guinness Book of World Records. One of it was “the biggest meal” and the other one “the biggest dance”. Specially invited international observers watched the dance and the process of cooking that day. “We saw it for ourselves that it is not easy to set new records. We had to overcome a number of administrative and organizational difficulties. But the result is worth all the expenses. We have set this record! Our youth won't stop at this. Many interesting creative and social projects await in future. We appeal to everyone to be more creative and mobile,” Yevgeniy Ribalko, Kazbrend Public Fund director said.
