Assem Izbaskhanova, a 21-y.o. fan of Johnny Depp, has won the Miss Shymkent title, Tengrinews reports. The contest had three stages and 17 contestants. The participants presented their profile videos, catwalked in dresses and answered questions, the latter was was considered the most difficult contest. Izbaskhanova catwalked in a dark blue evening gown. During the 'question-answer' contest the girl was asked if she were a journalist what question would she ask a Hollywood actor of her choice. The girl shared that she likes Johnny Depp very much and, said that she would ask him about his role of Jack Sparrow. Assem is a graduate of Auezov South Kazakhstan State University where she studied tourism. The first runner-up title was awarded to Dinara Safina, Anastasia Zinovyeva took the second runner-up title and the third one was given to Fariza Mukan. Kazakhstan singer Ali Okpanov and the first beauty of Almaty city Aigerim Kozhakhan attended the Miss Shymkent pageant. Zhazira Nurimbetova won the Miss Shymkent title in 2012. Later she won the nationwide contest and became gained the Miss Kazakhstan although after the voting the jury said that the voting result was a surprise for them. This resulted in a lot of critics, but Nurimbetova insisted that the contest was fair and called the critics to be fair in their statements.
