It was Akhmet Daulenbayev’s dream to have his own hot air balloon. The dream came true and now many Shymkent natives and visitors can experience the oldest human carrying flight technology for as little as $5, Tengrinews reports citing STV channel. The first people to fly on the hot air balloon were a 70 y.o couple. “From this height we were could clearly see the whole city. There are no words to describe my feelings. I liked it a lot and it was not scary at all,” Rakym Sarkul said. The happy owner of the hot air balloon says that it can go as high as 2000 meters, but it requires a professional pilot for that. Amateurs are only allowed to fly as high as 150 meters. The hot air balloon can fit in four passengers and is secured to the ground with three ropes. “I saw a hot air balloon for the first time at a square in Almaty in 1997. It was my dream ever since. I got a pilot license and wanted to buy this flying machine. Finally my dream came true. Together with my friends I ordered this hot air balloon from Russia and got the basket from France,” Mr. Daulenbayev said. It surely will not take you to the Land of Oz, but might be a really fun experience.
