Almaty will treat its residents and guests with a grand fireworks show at the Republic Square at 9-11 p.m. on September 21. The International Fireworks Festival event will be held as part of the Almaty City’s Day month long festivities, Tengrinews reports citing the city's department of culture.
Almaty will treat its residents and guests with a grand fireworks show at the Republic Square at 9-11 p.m. on September 21. The International Fireworks Festival event will be held as part of the Almaty City’s Day month long festivities, Tengrinews reports citing the city's department of culture.
The show will take place on the Republic Square (at the crossing of Satpayev and Furmanov streets) on September 21 at 9-11 p.m.
Those who cannot come can watch the fireworks show on Almaty TV channel.
According to the organizers of the show, the International Fireworks Festival is an important event for amateur and professional pyrotechnists. It will bring together teams from different countries, and the spectacular show will demonstrate the latest developments in pyrotechnics and the art of fireworks.
The teams will have a limited number of salvos and only 7 minutes each. Their shows will be accompanied by music. One of the main criteria is to use at least 5 different shapes, such as Bengali candle, horizontal or vertical spinning wheel, fountains, volcanoes and waterfalls.
Apart from the beauty of the figures, the jury will evaluate the quality of the pyrotechnic equipment used in the show.
The jury of the festival will present the best teams with three awards: For the Best Artistic Lighting, For the Bright Image, For Creative Ideas. The People's Choice Award winner will be determined via SMS-voting. To vote for a team one needs to send a text message with the team’s number to 8782. The messages will be free of charge.
A concert involving the Eurasian Music Awards’ winners will be a part of the Festival.
Earlier the same day, the Apple Fest will be held in the First President’s Park (crossing of Al Farabi and Navoi streets) and Our Lovely Park retro holiday at the Central Park (Gorkiy Park on Gogol Street).
