Astana residents and guests of the city will have a great opportunity to take ride with Tour de'France 2014 Champion Vincenzo Nibali caped for Kazakhstan on August 24 in Astana, Tengrinews reports citing the city administration's website.
The bike ride is timed to the Constitution Day (August 30) and the 100th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s cycling sport.
It will start at 9.00 am, but the participants should turn up at 8.00 am to get registered for the ride. The ride is free for everyone.
The starting point of the 4,600 m route is at Saltanat Sarayi that is located near Ishim River’s embankment on #3 Kabanbay Street. The riders will finish at Astana Arena Stadium.
Astana ProTeam cycling team will take part in the ride: the winner of the 2013 Giro d'Italia, the 2014 Tour de France Vincenzo Nibali, and other foreign and Kazakhstani racers of Astana team Jakob Fuglsang, Michele Scarponi, Maxim Iglinsky, Dmitriy Gruzdev.
The 2012 Olympic winner and now the general manager of Astana ProTeam Alexander Vinokourov and Astana city’s Mayor Imangali Tasmagambetov will also participate in the event.
