Astana Opera house is presenting two nights of The Sleeping Beauty ballet in the new revise of Yury Grigorovich, famous Russian ballet-master and People's Artist of the USSR, Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of the theater. The lead parts of Princess Aurora and Prince Desire will be performed by the ballet artists Aigerim Beketayeva and Tair Gatauov as the first cast. Gaukhar Usina and Rustem Seitbekov will dance as the second cast. The plot of the ballet is based on the famous French tale La Belle au bois dormant (Sleeping Beauty) by Charles Perrault. The main scenes of the performance are the appearance of playful and at the same time graceful Princess Aurora, and the culmination scene -- the wedding pas de deux of the last act. They will be a demonstration of the highest level of choreography. The ballet-master Yury Grigorovich took the text of Marius Petipa, the choreographer of the ballet's original production, and created a spectacle in two acts. The art director of the ballet Tursynbek Nurkaliyev pointed out the theater's troupe work with the outstanding choreographer and director gave a huge impulse to artists' aspiration. "What makes the troupe special is that it is not limited on dancing style, it lets the young dancers explore and unlock their potential not only as classic ballet dancers, but also as drama artists. Winners of international contests Doszhan Tabyldy and Yerkin Rakhmatulayev, who have just returned to Kazakhstan, will also participate in the performance," Nurkaliyev said. The costumes and decorations were carefully prepared by Italian masters with the style and details of the libretto in mind. The best scene designer Ezio Frigerio and Oscar-winning costume designer Franca Squarciapino created a real fairy tale on the stage, with the laconism and magnificence natural to masters. The Sleeping Beauty ballet will take place at Astana Opera theater on December 6 and 7 at 7:00 p.m.. The tickets cost ranges from 500 to 9 000 tenge ($3.5 - 60).
