It will be timed to the 66th anniversary of the Victory in the World War II of 1941-1945, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Almaty administration press-service. Celebrations will start at 10:00 a.m. in Panfilov Park (crossing of Gogol and Kunayev streets) with the flower-laying ceremony at the War Heroes monument. A holiday concert will be held on the same day at 8:00 p.m.. It will be opened by Almaty Akim (mayor) Akhmetzhan Yessimov and Kazakhstan singers. The fireworks will start at 10:00 p.m. on Astana square (crossing of Satpayev and Furmanov streets), Koktobe hill and Sairan lake shore (crossing of Tole bi and Utegen batyr streets). The event is timed to the 19th anniversary of Kazakhstan Armed Forces establishment and the 66th anniversary of the Victory in the World War II of 1941-1945. On the occasion of the Victory Day Kazakhstan residents will have 3 days off: May 7, 8 and 9. May 10, 2011 is a work day.
