Ice-cream festival will be held in Almaty on June 11. It will be timed to the International Children's Protection Day, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Director General of the festival-organizing company Olda Yekimove. The event will take place in the Central Park (Gorky Park on Gogol street). The festival's slogan is Off to the ice-cream festival with the whole family. This year the manufacturers prepared more than 300 kinds of ice-cream. Prices will be much lower than in the ordinary days. “Children from 12 orphanages and foster homes will be invited,” Yekimova said. Everything will be free of charge for them. Organizers want to make the new holiday an annual event. This will help improve relations inside the families and Kazakhstan society in general. “This is a family holiday. There aren't many holiday like that these days,” the organizer company's Commercial Director Ruslan Salpagarov said. The fest program includes contests for kids and grown-ups. Visitors will be able to take amusement rides, participate in contests, trivia games and relay races. The fest will finish in the evening with a disco party. Last year 55 thousand people attended the first Kazakhstan ice-cream fest. They ate almost 50 thousand serves of ice-cream.
