Almaty youth has been polled to identify the Seven 'Wonders' of Almaty city, Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of the Youth Policies Department of Almaty. The poll was timed to this year's Almaty City Day. It included questions about favorite leisure places, sights the respondents were proud of and the attractions they considered the 'pearls' of Almaty. The list of the Seven 'Wonders' of Almaty was made based on their answers. The Park of the First President, the Subway, Shymbulak mountain skiing resort, Sunkar international ski jumping complex, Medeu skating rink, cable railway at Kok-Tobe, the Esentay Towers became the Top 7 Attractions of the city, the places most popular among the young residents. "Knowing what our young people are proud of, we can better foster their respect and love for the city and the country. 4 out of 7 of the attractions that made it into the list were built over the past 5 years, and two other were reconstructed recently," said Sanzhar Bokayev, head of the Youth Policies Department of Almaty.
