Almaty girl wins Miss Asia title at beauty contest in Bishkek

Aigerim Dauletbekova from Almaty has won the Miss Asia title at the International Beauty and Model Festival-2013, Managing Director of Eventica Brandworks Elmira Seidazimova told Tengrinews.kz. The 18-y.o. model is studying journalism at the University of International Business (UIB). She won the first runner up title of Miss UIB-2013 in her alma mater, she also participates in Kazakhstan Fashion Weeks. Representatives of the World Beauty Congress approved her to represent Kazakhstan at the contest after an audition. More than 300 applications were submitted and 80 candidates were admitted to the audition. Alexandra Friberg from Sweden became the winner of the International Beauty and Model Festival-2013. Belgium's Emily Patricia Vanholt took the second place and Gulnara Zhanybekova from Kyrgyzstan was awarded with the third place. Girls from 18 countries catwalked in national and evening gowns and in bikinis in the final of the pageant that was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan on June 13-22. The main goals of the World Beauty Congress are to facilitate development of the beauty industry, tourism and attract global attention to culture and history of participating countries.
