A grandiose fireworks, multimedia light and sound show -- Almaty Skylight -- took place at the Astana Square of Almaty late on Septembre 14 to celebrate the Almaty City Day, Dailynews.kz reports. People standing at the square could watch video projections on the front of Kazakh-British Technical University building accompanied by sound effect and fireworks. 3D mapping technologies were used in the show to make immobile objects look alive. The spectacular show culminated in a fireworks unseen in Almaty before. "I haven't seen such a fireworks in Almaty before, neither on the New Year, nor on the Victory Day. It is a pity that projections did not repeat, but the final fireworks made up for everything. The show was very impressive," Vitaliy Solovyev from Almaty shared his impressions after the show. Teams from Holland, Russia and Bulgaria had arrived to Almaty to create the unforgettable show. "What makes the show so special is that these three parts - 3D mapping, sound and fireworks - have been practiced in Kazakhstan before, but separately, but in this show all the three components come together. It is the first time for Almaty. The hardest part is to synchronize the three teams. Centiseconds matter here. The task is a hard one," the organizer of the show Andrey Sizikov said. The fireworks involved a total of 5000 salvos with the final fireworks involving more that 3000 salvos. Apple Fest, Eurasian Music Award and other shows will take place in Almaty on Sunday, September 15.
